SSC CGL 2025 Final Result Declared: Check Cut-Off, Selection Process, and Merit List

The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has officially announced the final result of the Combined Graduate Level (CGL) Examination 2024. This long-awaited declaration comes after the completion of all examination stages, including Tier-I and Tier-II. Candidates who appeared for the exam can now check their results, category-wise cut-offs, and the final selection process details.

The SSC CGL 2024 selection process consisted of multiple stages:

  • Tier-I Examination: Conducted on December 5, 2024, as the initial qualifying round.
  • Tier-II Examination: Held in Computer-Based Mode on January 18, 19, 20, and 31, 2025.

Candidates who performed well in Section-I and Section-II of Tier-II were eligible for further evaluation in Section-III, which included the Computer Knowledge Test (CKT) and Data Entry Speed Test (DEST), except for the post of Statistical Investigator (SI) Grade-II.

Additionally, several candidates meeting the UR cut-off have also been considered under their respective reserved categories.

Evaluation Criteria for the Final Selection

The final selection of candidates was based on their overall performance in Tier-II, with separate criteria for different posts:

  • Junior Statistical Officer (JSO) & Statistical Investigator (SI): Consideration of Paper-I (Section-I + Section-II) and Paper-II scores.
  • Other Posts: Assessment based on Paper-I (Section-I + Section-II) scores.
  • Computer Proficiency & Data Entry Speed Test: Essential for roles requiring technical skills.

Minimum Qualifying Marks in Tier-II

Candidates had to secure the following minimum marks:

  • General (UR): 30%
  • OBC/EWS: 25%
  • SC/ST/PwD/Other Categories: 20%

Additionally, the permissible error percentage in DEST was:

  • UR: 20%
  • OBC/EWS: 25%
  • Other Categories: 30%

Final Selection and Merit List Preparation

The final merit list was prepared based on the performance in Tier-II. Candidates who met the qualifying criteria for CPT and DEST were considered for posts requiring these skills. Selection was made on a merit-cum-preference basis, and a total of 18,174 candidates have been provisionally recommended for appointment.

Tie-Breaking Policy in SSC CGL 2024

In case of a tie in Tier-II scores, the following criteria were applied to determine merit:

  1. Higher marks in Paper-II for JSO & SI posts.
  2. Higher marks in Section-I of Paper-I.
  3. Older candidates were given preference.
  4. Alphabetical order of names.

Withheld and Rejected Candidates

The results of 1,267 candidates have been withheld due to verification issues, while 253 candidates were rejected due to disqualification, debarment, or cancellation of candidature.

Candidates who have been provisionally selected must undergo document verification by the respective user departments before receiving their final appointment letters.
